Every team has a unique mix of personalities that bring the team to life both on the field and off the field. These include the player who is always early, the one who always has snacks, the team mom, the future coach, and the always injured player. Always Early
The player who is always early is the embodiment of discipline, and known throughout the coaching staff and team as the “Early Bird”. They always come 20-30 minutes early to practice so they are prepared for practice, using the extra time to stretch, warm up, and mentally prepare. The commitment to their sport has made them a role model for younger athletes and respected leader on the field. The key traits of this player is that they are very punctual, have great leadership skills, remain consistent even during the off season, and are very team-oriented.
Snacker
Every team has a player who keeps the vibes high and the snack stash full! This player is known for always having a snack on hand, whether thats a granola bar, orange slices, or gummy bears, they bring the energy on and off the field. They not only are an expert at being fully fueled but also the comedian on the slide lines and is a beloved part of the team culture. The key traits of the Snacker is that they are a snack connoisseur, boost the team morale, are incredibly resourceful, and have a steady source of energy since they are always fueled properly.
Team Mom
The team mom is not only a powerhouse on the field, but they are also the heart of the team. They are known for carrying extra water bottles, bringing band-aids and snacks, remembering everyone’s birthday, and always knows when to give someone a pep talk or give them a quiet moment. Their leadership is not only about helping the team perform well but they also bring emotional intelligence, kindness, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. The key traits of a Team Mom is someone who is a nurturing leader, are prepared for anything, are the unifying force of the team, and lead the team by example.
Future Coach
The Future Coach is the player who is always two steps aside. They are someone who is always studying plays, calling plays like a coach, and helps their teammates improve their skills during warm-ups. Whether they are looking through films, or organizing off-season drills, their passion for strategy and development set them apart as a player who is bound to lead a team of their own one day. The key traits of the Future coach is that they have a tactical mind, are a teacher at heart, are a respected communicator and are always learning.
Always Injured
The Always Injured player is someone who has a big heart, love for the game, but always seems to be injured. They are known for toughing it out through sprains, strains, and more, but they never let their injury stop their spirit. Whether they are sidelined or on the field they bring unmatched energy to the team. They are known for hyping up the team from the bench, tracking plays, and being everyone’s biggest cheerleader. The key traits of the Always Injured player is that they are mentally tough, very team-oriented, student of the game, and are an inspirational presence to the team.
