Winter Break Field Hockey Clinic with Faye Post
WILKES-BARRE, PA — Field hockey athletes gathered at the Brave FHC facility on December 20th for a Winter Break Field Hockey Clinic led by Faye Post, a goalkeeper for Northwestern University and member of the program’s 2024 and 2025 National Championship team.
Presented in collaboration with Brave FHC, the clinic welcomed athletes across two age groups for focused, position-driven instruction centered on defensive fundamentals and goalkeeping development. Players worked through drills emphasizing footwork, positioning, shot preparation, decision-making, and small-area defensive scenarios, with each segment designed to mirror the speed and structure of higher-level play.
Post led the sessions with a hands-on approach, breaking down technical details while reinforcing the importance of anticipation, communication, and composure under pressure. Drawing from her experience competing on a national championship roster, she helped athletes understand how strong defensive habits and preparation translate to consistent performance in game situations.
“It was such a privilege to be able to work with these young players” Post said, “Inspiring the next generation of field hockey players means the world to me.” “My goal is always to combine fun with hard work. I hope that all my clinics are both great learning opportunities and a super enjoyable experience.
In addition to on-field training, each group participated in a Q&A session with Post, where athletes and families gained insight into the college field hockey experience, training routines, mindset, and the balance of academics and athletics at the Division I level.
Families described the clinic as a unique opportunity for young athletes to learn directly from a National Champion while training in a supportive, high-energy environment. A portion of the proceeds benefited Brave FHC, reinforcing the event’s commitment to both player development and community support.
The Winter Break Field Hockey Clinic is part of a growing series of athlete-led training experiences, providing access to elite instruction while creating meaningful NIL opportunities for college athletes like Post.
